Nassau County has been addressing the opioid crisis on multiple fronts, one of them is educating its residents on the use of Naloxone, also known by the trade name NARCAN.
Nassau County Legislator Mazi Melesa Pilip, in partnership with County Executive Bruce Blakeman and the Nassau County Department of Human Services, are hosting a NARCAN Training Community Forum to help people learn the signs of an opiate overdose and how to administer the lifesaving antidote NARCAN, which can reverse the fatal effects of an opioid overdose and save a person’s life. NARCAN is the antidote to an opioid overdose and all attendees will receive a free NARCAN kit.
