WHAT: Legislator Siela Bynoe is pleased to announce that the Nassau University Medical Center Cancer Screening Van will be providing breast cancer screenings for women over fifty at Lakeview Public Library. Women with health insurance will be required to make a co-payment. The mammogram will be free for uninsured women, based on eligibility guidelines. “My district has a very diverse population with special and specific healthcare needs. I encourage women over 50 to take advantage of the mammography van coming to their community as well as all residents to understand that they could save up to three lives by donating blood,” shares Legislator Bynoe.
Mammography screening appointments are required and will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Anyone interested in having a mammography should call Legislator Bynoe’s office at (516) 571-6202 for additional details and medical requirements. Blood donors must bring Photo ID with signature. For age, weight, and other health requirements for blood donors, please call (516) 572-6348.
