Dear Resident,
Earlier this year, I joined County Executive Blakeman and my colleagues in the Legislative Majority to announce a new program that would provide grants to veterans’ halls and facilities. This initiative is intended to help the veteran’s posts that sustained financial losses during COVID when they were unable to rent their facilities for catered events. The funding is coming from the American Rescue and Recovery Act and will grant up to $10,000 to qualified veteran organizations.
To date, more than 25 grants have been approved and additional applications are currently being processed. This much needed financial relief will enable these facilities to continue to serve their communities while performing important charitable work and promoting the social welfare of their members.
