Dear Resident,
This past Monday, I joined my colleagues in taking the oath of office to serve as Nassau County Legislator for the 14th District of Nassau County for the Legislative Session covering 2022 to 2023.
Former Congressman Peter King administered the oath to the Majority Caucus at an induction ceremony held in the Peter J. Schmitt Legislative Chamber. At the reorganization meeting immediately following the induction ceremony, I was once again selected to serve as Chair of the Planning, Development & Environment Committee. I was also selected to serve as Vice-Chair of the Towns, Villages & Cities Committee and to continue as a member of the Rules, Health & Social Services and Public Works Committees. Finally, I was also chosen to become of member of the newly created Aircraft Noise Abatement Committee.
I look forward to once again serving the residents of the 14th District in my new term in the Nassau County Legislature. I thank my constituents for trusting me to represent their interests with strength and conviction and for enabling me to continue fighting for the important, quality-of-life issues that you, as tax-paying residents of Nassau County, expect your representative to fight for.
As always, please feel free to contact me with any thoughts and ideas you may have with respect to the County or on any particular issue that you think I may be able to assist you with. You may contact me at (516) 571-6214 or by email at LSchaefer@NassauCountyNY.gov .
Enjoy your weekend! 😊
Sincerely,
Laura M. Schaefer
Legislator, District 14
