Legislator Birnbaum Honors Great Neck Resident Erin Lipinsky
(GREAT NECK, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D – Great Neck) joined residents and colleagues in government at the Great Neck Alert Fire Company on Friday, Oct. 8 to recognize Great Neck resident Erin Lipinsky for raising more than $16,000 for the New York Special Olympics.
For the past seven years, Erin has raised money for the Special Olympics to help fund the purchase of equipment, attire, and health supplies for athletes. His fundraising events have included car washes, annual polar plunges, and other community events. He also plays for the Great Neck Spirits basketball team and has competed in the Special Olympics.
“Thanks to Erin’s philanthropy and generosity, participants in the Special Olympics will have all the essentials they need to compete and shine on a national stage,” Legislator Birnbaum said. “It is truly an honor to recognize Erin and present him a Certificate of Appreciation from the Nassau County Legislature to recognize his commitment to helping others .”
