(WOODBURY, N.Y.) - Ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, Nassau County Legislator Joshua Lafazan (Woodbury) partnered with the Woodbury Jewish Center to host a food drive on Tuesday, Nov. 17 that yielded more than six overflowing boxes of donations for Island Harvest. Proceeds will be used to put together holiday meals for families in need as the region continues to grapple with the economic fallout and increased hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As a community, we are always stronger when we stand together to take care of those in need,” Legislator Lafazan said. “I was thrilled to witness the generosity of District 18 residents on display and am thankful for their willingness to lend their support to Island Harvest’s ongoing efforts to address food insecurity during this critical time.”
