Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum Joins Nassau County Police


WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D - Great Neck) and the Nassau County Police Department invite the public to join them for National Night Out at Jonathan L. Ielpi Firefighters’ Park located on Grace Avenue in the Village of Great Neck Plaza.


Held in thousands of communities each year on the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out is a community building initiative that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. The event is an opportunity to meet Legislator Birnbaum as well as members of the Nassau County Police Department who will distribute public safety related materials for various age groups.


Attractions at the event include music, singing, dancing, crime prevention information, and free giveaways. Dr. Pamela Levy, the Department Head for Fine and Performing arts at John L. Miller Great Neck North High School, will return to present “Opera Under the Stars.”


“I am always proud to support our National Night Out - an important event that helps to strengthen the bonds between our first responders and the residents they proudly serve,” Legislator Birnbaum said.
