(MELVILLE and GREAT NECK, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D - Great Neck) congratulated William A. Shine Great Neck South High School graduate Katherine Hui on Tuesday, July 16 for earning a STEM scholarship from H2M Architects + Engineers.
The Melville-based architecture and engineering firm presented seven scholarships to students from the metropolitan area that are pursuing studies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics-related fields. Hui, who will major in architecture at Rice University in the fall, has been recognized by her peers as a diligent, hard-working student leader that excelled int he classroom and served as Captain of the track team, co-Captain of the Science Olympiad and President of the Architecture Club.
“STEM disciplines are fueling the cutting-edge careers that are poised to usher in a bright and prosperous future for Nassau County and all of the United States,” Legislator Birnbaum said. “I am delighted that local scholars like Katherine Hui are being rewarded for their achievements
and applaud H2M for supporting their studies through this scholarship program.”
