(MINEOLA, N.Y). - Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum recently welcomed Nassau County Auxiliary Police Department volunteers APO Linda Halas-Kaplan and PFC Jonathan Levy to her office (pictured, above), where she presented them with Nassau County Citations in recognition of recently receiving the department’s 500-Hour Service Award.
APO Halas-Kaplan and PFC Levy were two of seven Auxiliary Police volunteers serving the 10th Legislative District to receive length-of-service awards during a ceremony held at police headquarters on Thursday, May 9. Legislator Birnbaum congratulates Deputy Inspector John Concannon and Captain Maria D’Amelio for receiving the 1,000-hour service award; Sergeant Rajinder Gujral and Sergeant Derrick Nankoo for receiving the 500-hour award; and PFC Rahsmi Zatar for receiving the 300-hour award.
“Through their selfless service to the community, members of the Nassau County Auxiliary Police Department provide valuable services to the public,” Legislator Birnbaum said. “I thank all of these outstanding volunteers for the important contributions they make to the community.”
