(MINEOLA, NY) –Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D-Great Neck) is hosting two workshops in January for residents who want to learn how to file a grievance of their assessment with the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission. The workshops will teach the public about the process of property valuation and how to file an appeal of the assessed value of their property if they disagree with their most recent assessment. A representative from the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission will be available to provide information and answer questions. The first workshop will be held on January 24, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Great Neck House located at 14 Arrandale Avenue in Great Neck. An evening workshop will be held on January 31, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Clinton G. Martin Park located at 1601 Marcus Avenue in New Hyde Park. The time period to file a grievance is from January 2, 2017 to March 1, 2017.
