Legislator Richard Nicolello recently honored students from Manhasset High School and Mineola High School who were selected as Intel Semifinalists for 2015.
Manhasset High School students; Jessica Kim, Typher Tom, and Emma Dong & Mineola High School students; Charlotte Ring and Monika Dharia were invited to a meeting of the Nassau County Legislature to be honored and speak about their projects and the potential use of the research in medicine, the environment and other areas of our society. Although Typher, Emma, and Monika were unable to attend do to prior commitments, Jessica and Charlotte proudly represented Manhasset High School & Mineola High School in front of the Legislature.
The Intel Science Talent Search is the nation's most prestigious pre-college science competition. Annually, students entering the Intel STS compete for $1.25 million in awards. Only 300 students are announced as semifinalists each year.
