Legislature Approves Funding for Village of Kensington
(MINEOLA, NY) – The Village of Kensington will be receiving funding from Nassau County as part of a Community Revitalization Project (“CRP”) to improve street signage in the Village. The request for funding was unanimously approved on Monday, November 17, 2014 during a full meeting of the Legislature. Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D-Great Neck) worked tirelessly with the Nassau County Executive’s office and Village of Kensington Mayor Susan Lopatkin to see that this project received funding through an inter-municipal agreement between Nassau County and the Village of Kensington. It is important to adequately mark streets for residents, visitors and emergency first responders who travel within the Village and who pass through the Village streets to get to Middle Neck Road or East Shore Road.
“With the acquisition of new street signs, the Village of Kensington will be able to improve the safety in the Village with easier to read street signs to replace the older existing ones” said Legislator Birnbaum.
