(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Siela A. Bynoe (D – Westbury) invites the Uniondale community to come together on the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 6 to celebrate National Night Out at the Cornelius Court Elementary School.
The event, which is being presented in partnership with the Nassau County Police Department, the Uniondale Fire Department, and the Uniondale Union Free School District, includes music, fun activities, giveaways, local community vendors, entertainment, refreshments, and more. In addition, officers from the NCPD’s Office of Emergency Management will be on site to perform demonstrations and emergency drills during the evening’s program.
“Each year in Nassau County and across America, National Night Out brings us together in a festive setting that helps to build and strengthen relationships that will make our communities safer and more welcoming for everyone,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Bynoe said. “The participation of the Nassau County Police Department is instrumental in achieving this outcome, and I am grateful to the Department and the Office of Emergency Management the Auxiliary Police Department and the Explorers program for their partnership with my office and providing such valuable supplemental support year after year.”
For more than four decades, National Night Out events have been held in thousands of communities on the first Tuesday in August as a crime prevention and awareness initiative that seeks to promote “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” National Night Out enhances relationships between law enforcement, fire districts and communities by bringing them together with residents in a safe, fun, and welcoming atmosphere.
