Dear Resident,
Earlier this week I joined my legislative colleagues in supporting a resolution on a contract to update the Nassau County Fire Commission’s Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system with new technology that will greatly enhance Nassau County’s entire fire response capabilities. This state-of-the-art software will provide a direct mobile communications link between the seventy-one fire departments and six ambulance corps that serve Nassau County. Bridging this network will result in quicker response times to emergency calls and better coordination of our countywide firefighting operation. Our firefighters put their lives on the line every time they answer a call. These technological upgrades will enable them to perform their jobs more efficiently in order to help keep our communities safer.
