PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS WORKSHOP IN WESTBURY
Tuesday, August 26th - 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Westbury Recreation Center - 348 Post Avenue
To help homeowners learn more about the property tax exemptions they may qualify for, Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano – in partnership with Senator Jack Martins, Westbury Mayor Peter Cavallaro, Legislators Laura Schaefer and Siela Bynoe – has arranged to bring Department of Assessment office operations to the Westbury Recreation Center located at 348 Post Avenue on Tuesday, August 26 from 1 – 3 p.m.
Department staff will process property tax exemption applications for Basic and Enhanced STAR, Veterans, Senior Citizen, Cold War Veterans, Volunteer Firefighters and Ambulance Workers, Limited Income Disability, and Home Improvement on-site.
Homeowners who will be filing for an exemption can help expedite the processing of their application by bringing two (2) copies of any documentation that is required for the property tax exemption he or she is applying. Applications and specific documentation requirements are available on the Department of Assessment website at www.mynassauproperty.com.
“I want to thank Mayor Cavallaro and the Westbury Board of Trustees for helping me bring County office operations to the Westbury community,” stated County Executive Mangano. “We urge all homeowners to take advantage of this worthwhile property tax savings workshop.”
For further information regarding Basic and Enhanced STAR or any other property tax exemption program, homeowners are invited to contact the Department of Assessment Exemptions Division at (516) 571-1500.
