Nassau County Annual Tax Lien Sale - 2025

On February 18th, 2025, the Nassau County Treasurer will sell at public on-line auction the 2024 tax liens on certain real estate, unless the owner, mortgagee, occupant of or any other party of interest in such real estate shall have paid to the County Treasurer by February 13th, 2025, the total amount of such unpaid 2024 taxes or assessments with the interest, penalties and other expenses and charges against the property.

Important dates regarding the 2025 Tax Lien Auction are as follows:

  • January 22nd, 2025 - Registration opens & bidding commences
  • February 5th, 2025 - Registration requirements deadline
  • February 7th, 2025 - 2024 subsequent tax deadline
  • February 13th, 2025 - Tax payment deadline
  • February 18th, 2025 - Tax Lien Auction and 10% deposit due
  • March 20th, 2025 - 90% balance deadline

To participate in the sale, registrants must first pay the registration fee ($175) place the required minimum deposit ($5,000) and submit a budget. Upon completion of the sale, 10% of the total purchase is immediately due by the end of the day.  The remaining 90% balance is due by 3:00pm March 20th, 2025.  Failure to pay the 10% deposit or 90% by the deadline will result in the forfeiture of your winning bids and loss of any deposits made.
