Ascend Long Island

In partnership with Hofstra University and funded by a grant from JP Morgan Chase, Nassau County is participating in Ascend Long Island, a program to identify and promote opportunities for small and minority businesses in “the Corridor” (Hempstead Village, Uniondale, Freeport Village, and Roosevelt). Ascend Long Island is the first of its kind to apply the proven “3 M” model (Management, Markets, and Money) for business growth in a suburban setting. The program offers access to capital, capacity-building, and networking opportunities to expand entrepreneurship, access to public and private contracts, and upward mobility for local residents.
