Powers & Duties
The clerk of the legislature shall:
- Poll the members of the County Legislature to determine all votes in favor or against any local law, ordinance, resolution, or other item placed before the members of the County Legislature for a vote
- Record the vote of the members of the County Legislature and make sure other notations as necessary during the course of proceedings
- Record the votes of the members of the County Legislature in the Journal of Proceedings and make other such notations as necessary as soon after the close of the proceedings as is practicable
- Keep minutes of all proceedings at each regular meeting and special meetings in accordance with applicable law and shall have such minutes bound and kept on public file as the record of proceedings of the County Legislature.
