Dear Resident,

As County Executive, keeping Nassau safe is my highest priority. That’s why I fought to make sure Nassau County would be eligible for federal assistance from FEMA after the remnants of CEPic1Hurricane Ida hit our County.I saw first-hand the devastation and massive flooding caused by this storm, so I urge anyone who was affected to please begin the application process for federal disaster assistance relating to any of your uninsured or underinsured damage at www.disasterassistance.gov, or by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362) as soon as possible.
Please note, there is also a TTY number available at 1-800-462-7585 and 711 or Video Relay Service at 1-800-621- 3362.
Residents can also apply in-person at the new FEMA Disaster Recovery Center at Michael J. Tully Park (1801 Evergreen Ave, New Hyde Park), open every day from 8am to 7pm.

Direct assistance may include home repairs, temporary housing, low-cost loans, and other programs to help you and your family recover and rebuild.
Applicants applying for FEMA Disaster Assistance should be ready to provide the following information:

•    A current phone number where you can be contacted;
•    Your address at the time of the disaster and the address where you are now staying;
•    Your Social Security number, if available;
•    A general list of damages and losses; and
• If insured, the insurance policy number, or the agent and company name.
Business owners can also apply for Disaster Loans to help repair or replace disaster-damaged property, as well as to help meet their financial obligations that cannot be met as a direct result of CEPic2the disaster by going to disasterloanassistance.sba.gov or by calling (800) 659-2955.

If you were affected, please let me know if I can be of any assistance to you or your family during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

CESig1
