Nassau County Legislator Steve Rhoads joined with dozens of volunteers for the annual Water Chestnut Pull at Mill Pond Preserve in Wantagh. The annual clean up is run in conjunction with the State Department of Environmental Conservation. The volunteers were able to clear hundreds of pounds of the invasive species from the pond by hand. Their efforts will help preserve marine life in the pond and keep the area clean.
Legislator Rhoads will be sponsoring a land-based clean up of the Mill Pond Preserve on Sunday, June 28th from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
