On August 5th, Alternate Deputy Presiding Officer Denise Ford and the Nassau County Legislature approved a Community Revitalization Project (CRP) to benefit the Lido & Point Lookout Fire District.
The project will authorize the County to executive an inter-municipal agreement with the fire district in relation to procuring self-contained breathing apparatus units for the district. The County will provide $80,000 in Capital Funds to the fire district for the purchase of these SCBA units and any related equipment.
Following the vote, Alternate Deputy Presiding Officer Ford provided this comment: “Our firefighters put their lives on the line every time they go out for a call and do so on a volunteer basis. Any help we can provide them to make their jobs safer and to help our residents is a no-brainer. I am proud to provide this funding to the department for the SCBA units.”
