LET’S PUT AN END TO POLLUTION! STUDENT SIGN CONTEST
Legislator Steve Rhoads is partnering with Operation S.P.L.A.S.H.
(Stop Polluting, Littering and Save Harbors)
to sponsor a sign contest for high school students
The purpose of the contest is to raise awareness about the importance of proper disposal of litter and other debris to protect our environment and the marine and animal life which join us in relying upon it for sustenance.
The signs must contain original artwork and messaging centered around one of the following themes:
“Every Litter Bit Hurts” • “Put Waste In It’s Place”
“Please Don’t Trash Our Future”
“Stash Your Trash – Lives Depend on It”
The Grand Prize Winner will receive a $500 cash prize to be donated by Operation Splash, as well having their name and winning design placed on signage in various locations throughout the 19th Legislative District, which incorporates the shore communities of:
Freeport, Merrick, Bellmore, Wantagh and Seaford, as well as North Merrick
