Mineola, NY – Nassau County Executive Laura Curran hosted free melanoma screenings for county employees during Melanoma Awareness Month. Melanoma continues to increase yearly. It is the most common cancer among 25-29 y/o and second most common for 15 – 29 y/o.

To help reduce rising rates of skin cancer from overexposure to the ultraviolet (UV) rays of the sun, the American Cancer Society and National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention have designated the Friday before Memorial Day as “Don’t Fry Day”.
