Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced the Men’s Early-Bird Softball Warm-up will take place on Sunday, April 13th at Mitchel Athletic Complex.
All teams are guaranteed 4 hours of playing time and pool play in all levels applies. Teams in each pool will play each other in a round-robin tournament involving three 55-minute games per team. These games will be timed with a central horn and stop immediately when the horn sounds. Then the top two teams in each pool will play a full game for a Championship Trophy and the bottom two teams will play for a full consolation game.
Nassau County rules apply. There will be one practice pitch between innings. Players will hustle on and off the field. After the game horn sounds, your team has five minutes to get to the next field. Teams will have no more than two games in a row. Have your lineups done before games start. Players may only play on one team for the day. Teams must sign in 30 minutes before your first game.
Fees include: $295 per team plus an umpire fee at the field. Checks should be made out to “Friends of Nassau County.” For more information please call: (516) 315-4941 or email: nassaucountysports@verizon.net.
