Mineola, NY – Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano encourages residents to take advantage of the two-part boater’s certification course being held on Saturday, June 10th and Saturday, June 17th at Garvies Point Museum and Preserve from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The two-part seminar is being offered by the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Glen Cove Flotilla 12-03, and will include topics related to safe operation, regulations, responsibilities of boat ownership and operation. There is a $55.00 per person fee which includes both days. Participants must attend both classes in order to receive a certificate. Advanced registration is required as there is limited space.
“Too many people take their boats out onto the water without proper preparation,” said County Executive Mangano. “The boating safety tips offered at this course can help save lives by ensuring boaters are properly prepared before they leave the dock.”
