Stewart Manor, NY — Legislator John Giuffré delivered a check to the Village of Stewart Manor containing money earmarked for Community Revitalization Program Grants (CRP).
The check presented by Legislator Giuffré was in the amount of $15,000 and will allow the Village of Stewart Manor to plant approximately 30 to 35 shade trees in the Village. Starting with Superstorm Sandy in 2012, the Village lost many shade trees on their streets. This trend continued with each successive storm, and the landscaping work of maintaining the remaining trees has precluded the Village from planting new ones without CRP money.
“I am very happy to work with Mayor Michael Onorato and the Village Board of Trustees to provide these funds to help make our Village beautiful,” Legislator Giuffré said. “Trees always improve the quality of life in any community. These trees will replace those that have been sorely absent since Superstorm Sandy.”
