[ARCHIVED] LEGISLATOR RHOADS ANNOUNCES ON-GOING UKRAINIAN RELIEF DRIVE A MASSIVE SUCCESS

LEGISLATOR RHOADS ANNOUNCES ON-GOING UKRAINIAN RELIEF DRIVE A MASSIVE SUCCESS

In only a few days, the donations bins at Wantagh Park for the County Legislature’s Ukrainian Relief Drive have overflowed with supplies for those under Russian invasion in Ukraine. Legislator Steve Rhoads, whose district includes Wantagh Park, helped pack the supplies up. After the drive ends, the supplies from all the County parks will be given to the Polish Consulate to send to Europe.

The drive runs until March 25th, and boxes are located at Eisenhower Park, Wantagh Park, Christopher Morley Park, Grant Park, Nickerson Park, Cantiague Park and the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building.

“Thank you to everyone that has donated to our Ukrainian relief drive so far – we are less than a week into the drive and have had a tremendous outpouring of support,” Legislator Rhoads said. “Our televisions and social media are filled with terrible images of this growing humanitarian crisis and I’m grateful to our community for stepping up, as always, to do what we can to help.”
