“Several constituents have reached out to my office to express concerns about the progress of long-awaited capital upgrades to Centennial Park in Roosevelt,” Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) said. “My office immediately reached out to the Department of Public Works to inquire about the status of the project. On Friday, Nov. 15, DPW officials advised me that they discovered issues with electrical infrastructure that have delayed the project. DPW is now forecasting a Memorial Day 2025 completion date.”
“While necessary revisions to the plan have been made and work will soon begin again, I share the community’s frustration with the delay and lack of communication,” Legislator Mulé added. “I have since reached out to Parks and DPW leaders to ensure that the Roosevelt community is kept fully and promptly informed about progress at Centennial Park moving forward.”
